Thomas Doherty President Mr. Doherty has more than twelve years of experience in the insurance industry, and has spent the last five years growing NIP Programs through his passion for optimization and customer experience. Prior to joining NIP Programs, Mr. Doherty was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Morgan 24/7 Financial Services, where he built a state-of-the-art business development group. He started his insurance career at MetLife. Mr. Doherty is proud to have earned the designation of Certified Programs Leader (CPL) from Target Markets Program Administrator Association.

Mr. Doherty graduated from Monmouth University in New Jersey and is still very active with his alma mater. 
Goretti DeSousa Program Director Goretti DeSousa is a Program Director/Underwriter for NIP’s SitePro program, targeting construction and artisan contractors. An experienced insurance professional who’s held both broker and underwriter positions with industry-leading firms, Goretti has a comprehensive understanding of both insurance fundamentals and the specific needs of agents in the field. Goretti joined NIP Group in April of 2012, coming to us after 20 years of experience as a commercial lines account manager. She specialized in working with construction contractors, transportation and condominiums/homeowners associations (HOAs). Her duties included interacting with carriers and customers — both internal and external — to negotiate coverages and premiums; ensure compliance with policies and procedures; and development of go-to-market strategies; all while delivering exceptional customer service and support.
Mike Rook Program Director Mike is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and is also a CPCU. He began his tree care insurance career in 1992 underwriting arborist accounts for The Hartford’s Arborist Program. He helped grow this start up program to over $17MM in premium by 2004. He then moved on to help develop the ArborMAX Insurance Program with Summit Insurance. General Agency Services purchased the program in 2007 where Mike was the Program Manager. Mike joined NIP Group TreePro Program in March 2014 and is now the Program Director. He has been very active in the tree care industry and has developed strong relationships with agents, tree care owners, and industry association personnel over the many years.
Jenny Mortell Senior Underwriter Jenny graduated from the University of Nebraska and began her insurance career in Omaha as a customer service representative handling tree care accounts with Alexander & Alexander (currently known as AON Risk Services).  In 1996, she relocated to the East Coast to join The Hartford Specialty Programs unit where she exclusively handled arborist business. In 2007 Jenny accepted a position with General Agency Services as Operations Coordinator and Associate Underwriter of the ArborMAX program.  She is currently a member of NIP Group’s TreePro & Land Pro program and looks forward to continuing her industry expertise and broker relationships.
Allison Gaspar Underwriter Allison began her insurance career in 2002 with American International Group (AIG) and worked her way up from Administrative Assistant to Senior Underwriting Technician.  She joined NIP Group in 2010 and has worked exclusively on the LandPro and TreePro Programs as a renewal and new business underwriter.
Kristine Lucke Program Claims Director Kristine joined NIP in 2008 as the Programs Claims Director, providing oversight on all claim related issues. She is a graduate of Montclair State University, who began her insurance career handling national account Workers’ Compensation claims at Travelers for five years. Kristine then made the leap to Woolworth Corporation (NYC), as the Corporate Claim Manager for two years, then as the Risk Manager. Other positions she's held following a move from Woolworth include Risk/Claims Manager for Chanel, and a Senior Risk Analyst position in the Bristol Myers-Squibb Risk Management department where she was responsible for the nationwide claims program, along with  the purchase and administration of all casualty lines of insurance.
Angela Testa-Esparra Program Director Angela has extensive experience in Workers’ Compensation analysis, evaluation, and pricing with additional experience in the Healthcare Insurance Industry. She began her career working for MetLife in their Healthcare Division as a Claims Adjuster, transitioning into Underwriting. When MetLife’s Healthcare Division merged into UnitedHealth Group, she remained with the Company for several years until she relocated to Southern New Jersey. She began her Workers’ Comp Underwriting career in 2001 working for an emerging MGA in Southern New Jersey. She held the position of Underwriter and Underwriting Manager / Director and was awarded Employee of the Year during her tenure. Angela joined NIP Group in April 2013 as the Workers’ Comp Program Manager. Angela attended Dowling College for Business Management and Psychology and holds her New Jersey P&C license.
Matthew Leanza Director of Business Development After graduating from Lehigh University, Matthew began his insurance career in the Medical Malpractice Insurance Industry as a member of Conventus Inter-Insurance Exchange. Matthew then made the move to NIP Programs in 2013, and became the Director of Business Development in 2017. Since his arrival, Matthew has worked hand in hand with NIP’s Brokers, and built a strong Business Development team to provide exceptional customer service and to help grow and retain business. As a Licensed Property and Casualty Insurance Producer, Matthew has the knowledge and ability to help guide you throughout the entire NIP Programs experience.
